March 2026 Care & Clarity Update

❣️Fierce Compassion and Relinquishing Control ⛓️‍💥

THE SOIL CHECK 🌱

Greetings Family,

Throughout Women’s History Month, I spent a lot of time reflecting on the women who realized the patriarchal table was never built for them so they built their own out of wood, love, and fierce compassion. Personally, this month has challenged me to look at my own leadership and ask where I am still wearing the heavy armor of the "Strong Black Woman" trope. Armor is heavy, and it keeps connections out.

As we wrap up March, I invite you to pause and check your own soil. In our rush to manage outcomes and protect ourselves, we often forget that patriarchy demands control, but love demands freedom.

This Month’s Conversation: Jacinda Diaz on Love as a Constant Choice

“Love is eternal”

In this month's episode of Talk to Me, I sat down with Jacinda Diaz to explore how love requires stepping into discomfort and how it acts as the ultimate strategy for freedom. Jacinda beautifully articulated how love isn't just a sentiment, but an eternal, transformational entity that requires us to leave open space for others to grow.

💡The "Gold Nugget":

"We're not going to change anyone's heart or mind by meeting fire with fire. We have to be open to them, for them to be open to us."

If you are navigating relational friction or struggling with the urge to build walls instead of boundaries, this conversation will help you see that love is a constant choice and that choosing compassion allows others to lean in.

🌍GROWING THE ME & THE WE🌍

We explored several paths to Fierce Compassion this month. Here are the key takeaways for your practice:

  • For Your Self (The ME): On the blog, we discussed dropping the armor and the trap of the "strong" leader. Remember: A boundary is not a patriarchal wall meant to punish; it is an act of Fierce Compassion meant to preserve the relationship. Read the full post!

  • For Your Leadership (The WE): We broke down two core leadership practices in our Love as a Strategy mini-series: "The ROI of Relinquishing Control" and "Compliance vs. Compassion: Auditing Your Leadership". If you missed them, you can catch the full playlist here.

🎯STRATEGY IN ACTION🎯

The Practice: The Compassion Audit

How do we move from insight to embodiment? This month, try this LBA Strategy:

  • Micro (Self): Identify one area in your life where you are gripping too tightly to control, and practice actively relinquishing it.

  • Meso (Group): Ask your team, your family, or someone you have constant contact with:

    • "Does our environment rely on punitive feedback and compliance, or do we foster psychological safety and autonomy?"

The Invitation: Transformation happens in layers.
